Birdland Jazz Club Announces New Performance of Ann Kittredge’s MOVIE NITE

Birdland Jazz Club will feature a cabaret veteran, award-winning singer and theater favorite Ann Kittredge for a revival of his widely acclaimed show Movie Nite, backed by his musical director Alex Rybeck on the piano and Sean Harness on guitar, at the Birdland Theater (315 West 44th Street) on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 7 p.m. This performance was scheduled to take place on January 10 as previously announced. However, due to a positive Covid case in her family a few days before, Ms Kittredge was forced to cancel.

At the show’s highly anticipated 2021 premiere at the Birdland Theatre, “people turned out in droves, delivering one of the biggest opening night audiences club-goers have seen in a long time, and Movie Nite was everything Mrs. Kittredge promised her fans: glamorous, humorous, sophisticated, sweet and… packed with great music, singing and camaraderie.” (BroadwayWorld)

Ann Kittredge showcases his tremendous vocal talent and innate connection with his audience, singing an eclectic program of film music. From the greatest songwriters of the golden age of cinema to today, Ann brings passion, energy and her unique storytelling while sharing her journey from the heart with songs introduced by luminaries such as carly simon, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garlandand dory day, among others. The show includes a stunning folk-opera rendition of the classic “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life,” as well as a lively reimagining of the opening number from the 2016 film, La La Land. Alex Rybeck the music masterfully directs the show. Penelope Thomas of Bistro Awards said, “Everything was pure, unhurried, classy.” Alex and Ann welcome a multi-award winning guitarist Sean Harness to join them. The award-winning MAC singer has appeared in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions, including King David (New Amsterdam), Dessa Rose (Lincoln Center), several seasons of A Christmas Carol (Paramount), City Center Encores!, and is a regular on the cabaret circuit. His previous shows, Fancy Meeting You Here: An Evening of Ahrens & Flaherty, and One Night Only have garnered rave reviews, with Brady Schwind from BroadwayWorld calling her the “story singer supreme!”
