Jim Caruso‘s Cast Party” is a wildly popular open mic night that has brought a dash of Broadway glitz and urban spirit to Birdland in New York every Monday night since 2004. It’s a cool open mic night and a hilarious impromptu variety show in which showbiz superstars take the stage alongside newcomers, serving up jaw-dropping music and an all-around dazzling “Cast Party” is the perfect place to mingle with the talented artists and their Caruso, peppy, lively and charming, guides the whole affair, while the musical genius Billy Stritch (Liza Minnell, Tony Bennett) holds court at the ivories and directs the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra (Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass to the battery). The best part is that the public is invited to participate in the musical festivities. More information is available at www.CastPartyNYC.com
