Beats & Pieces Big Band Ten: A new album from Manchester-based fourteen-piece big band Ben Cottrell – all in lowercase in the title – marks ten years of the award-winning ensemble’s formation. Cottrell and his fellow musicians keep a young, fresh and contemporary edge in their compositions and concerts. ten is available on Ben Cottrell’s Efpi Records, and the band will be performing at Middlesbrough Jazz Weekender on Friday, October 19.
