Rob Luft Trio are guests of the Chichester Jazz Club
They line up like Rob Luft – electric and acoustic guitars; Tom McCredie – double bass and bass guitar; and Corrie Dick – drums and percussion.
Spokesperson Melissa Hauffe said: “Rob Luft is a rising star, an award-winning 28-year-old jazz guitarist from London whose virtuosity has been compared to that of legends John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Paco De Lucia. He returns to Chichester Jazz Club after a memorable performance in September 2019 with British jazz veteran Dave O’Higgins. There are very few debut albums that can create such an impact and launch an artist like Rob Luft’s 2017 debut Riser managed to do. After winning the Royal Academy of Music’s Kenny Wheeler Jazz Prize, London-based Luft burst onto the scene with an album of originals and instrumental sound so loud it’s hard to believe a 23-year-old produced it. His guitar playing and songwriting voice were unmistakably his own and Rob’s joy in creating music, his humility and humanity in working with his fellow musicians is why he quickly became one of the most requested and most requested to emerge from the UK for a long time.
Entry £15 for guests, £8 for members, students get a special entry price of £5, but this reduces to £3 for student members. For guests only, tickets can be purchased in advance from the Chichester Visitor Information Centre, The Novium, Tower Street – 01243 775888 or www.novium.org/boxoffice.
