COVID-19 canceled Tampa Jazz Clubis Charlie Parker’s 100th birthday party last year, so the band pays homage to what would have been the iconic jazz musician’s 101st year with a “Bird Lives!” concert on Sunday.

Saxophonists Austin Vickrey, Jack Wilkins, Valerie Gillespie and Jon Cesteros are joined by two new Masters students from the University of South Florida, Ross Strauser and Aaron West. La Lucha — John O’Leary, Alejandro Arenas and Mark Feinman — sets the pace for a show that kicks off the club season 2021-22 which includes Acme Jazz Garage in December. Masks are compulsory for all, vaxxed or not.
